Interested in an opportunity with NASA?

NASA Internships

NASA Internships are educational hands-on opportunities that provide unique NASA-related research and operational experiences. These internships integrate participants with career professionals emphasizing mentor-directed, degree-related, real-time world task completion. During the internship participants engage in scientific or engineering research, development, and operations activities.

Information about all NASA internships is available here. Students are encouraged to create an account at this website so that they can stay informed for opportunities of interest to them.

Applications are now open for internships for summer of 2017. The deadline closes March 1, 2017, however, offers may be made as early as January so get your application in ASAP.

NASA Fellowships

NASA offers fellowships for undergraduate as well as graduate students. All fellowship information is available here.

AS&ASTAR Fellowship

The NASA Education Aeronautics Scholarship and Advanced STEM Training and Research (AS&ASTAR) Fellowship activity provides fellowship and graduate scholarship awards for individuals pursuing or planning to pursue graduate studies leading to master's and doctoral degrees in relevant NASA-related disciplines at accredited U.S. universities. This year’s solicitation is available here. This is a wonderful opportunity for a graduate student to have their whole study program funded – including all fees and a living stipend, and also a small stipend for the advising faculty.

Specific research areas are listed in the solicitation. The proposal must include information regarding how the student/faculty will interact with NASA researchers on the proposed research. Typically, the student is expected to spend some time at the NASA center which funds the proposal.

The deadline for proposals is February 24, 2017.

Additional research solicitations can be found here.

NASA Co-Op Positions & Jobs

NASA refers to co-ops as Pathways Interns. These positions are advertised here, which is the website for all federal government job openings. Those interested in federal co-ops or permanent jobs are encouraged to open an account on this website and set up their preferences so that they can get notifications for jobs of interest to them.
