Stratospheric Ballooning Team reaches 123,500 feet

On Friday, August 4, 2017, the MN Space Grant Stratospheric Ballooning Team launched a latex weather balloon that reached 123,500 feet - a record (for them). This was a practice launch for hardware scheduled to fly from near Grand Island, Nebraska, in the path of totality during the solar eclipse on August 21, 2017.
