AEM Alumnus Ramesh Agarwal Honored for Lifetime Achievement by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)

Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics alumnus Ramesh Agarwal recently received an honorary membership from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in recognition of his lifetime achievements. Those who are given honorary memberships are people who have made “distinctive contributions” to the engineering industry. ASME is a nonprofit organization that brings together professionals from engineering communities around the globe. Dr. Agarwal has also received the AIAA Reeds Aeronautics Award, SAE medal of Honor and Royal Aeronautical Society Honorary Fellowship, the highest honors bestowed by these societies.

Dr. Agarwal received his Masters of Science in 1969 from the AEM department at the University of Minnesota. He is currently the William Palm professor of engineering at Washington University, St. Louis, MO. His areas of interest and expertise are in computational sciences and he has made many remarkable research achievements within the field as well as in other disciplines. Dr. Agarwal has also authored and coauthored more than 600 publications and technical papers throughout his career.
